Recently, I viewed an Antique Road Testify where a guy had a long skinny Gilbert Clock. The clock was 2 feet long, round on acme where the face up and hands go, skinny middle with flower pattern on wood and minor sqare lesser with glass picture forepart.
You can imagine how shocked I was to exist in the Goodwill shop watching several people picking up a cute Gilbert clock and discarding it like trash! So I grabbed it.
I am non a collector, only am impressed past this wonderfull piece of art. My clock is ii feet long,7 1/2 inches broad. the inside of the face looks to be fabricated of silver cardboard, with gold and black numbers with the Gilbert name just under the hands. On the bottom of the face it is stamped made in the u.s.a.a. On top at that place is a metal American hawkeye figure.
The neck has what appears to exist hand painted roses,that are in good status, measuring 5in. in length. The square bottom has a glass mounted forepart with a bridge and countryside moving-picture show.
The backside is engraved with the letters usa and the number 3707. The clock is in great condition with minimal wear and tear. The clock machinery is wound tight and not working at this time.

Gilbert Painted Clock?

Gilbert Mantel Clock
I have a painted mantel clock that says "Gilbert 1807" on the face and "Made by Gilbert at Winsted, Conn., The states.
I know the Gilbert Clock Company was not founded until several years later. What could this be?
There is no label on the inside, simply you can run into where one was. The number stamped on the bottom of the clock is 6759 and another barely readable postage stamp that says, Made in Usa.
Anybody out in that location have a clue as to the actuality and/or history?

Wm. L Gilbert Mantel Clock
Hello,
I have recently acquired a Gilbert mantel clock that I know nothing about. It stands 12" alpine, 20" wide and 5" deep. On the face just nether the 12 is a small-scale hole under the hole are the capitals SF that accept been stamped into the confront.
Inside on the movement it has Gilbert stamped, the number 24 and the alphabetic character G in a diamond. On the bottom of the movement is a single curly wire for the chinkle.
Unfortunately there is no weight for the pendulum, just does work if operated gently by hand. The case appears to be of oak.Perchance somebody knows a bit nearly this clock or fifty-fifty the weight of weight, I could so make one to suit.

Curious virtually a Gilbert Clock
My parents gave me a clock that I was wanting to find out some information on. Information technology is a mantel clock in good condition information technology just doesn't run.
On the face of the clock it says: Made by William 50. Gilbert Clock Co Winsted Conn. The states.
On the bottom it has the number 2059 engraved into the wood. And the words NORMANDY Chime stamped on it.
Would it exist a wise investment to get repairs done on it?

Modest BRONZE DESK CLOCK
1902 bronze clock
I bought a cute footling clock at a garage auction. I know adjacent-to-goose egg well-nigh clocks, but I was intrigued because this one really keeps time, and has a separate little dial for the 2d hand.
It stands 4.five inches tall to the top of the flower, and has twirling 'vines' for handles on the side. The punch is white and the numerals are blackness. On the back is a knob that sets "fix hands," a key to air current it upwardly, a fast/slow lever. It says: Patented Sept ii, 02, January----- tin can 't read, Nov. ___ 08, ____ _____ 09.
It weighs one pound, 1.5 ounces. Oh, there is a "K" in a diamond on the back, near the bottom. Thanks for any info on this clock!

1906 Mantle clock from Wm. L. Gilbert Clock Co.

Gilbert Clock Company Blackness Mantel (similar to mine)
I just recently inherited a 1906 Drapery clock made past the WM L. Gilbert Clock Co. from my Slap-up Grandmother.
Now I have no experience in caring for mechanical movement clocks such as this i, then I was wondering if anyone could requite me some advice on how to care for information technology and how much it might cost me to have the clock restored. As of right now all of the brass fittings on the clock are very tarnished. The red marbling on the 2 pillars and the areas by the clock face is covered past what I remember is black paint. The clock is non working at all but from the peek I took inside, all the parts appear to be in that location.
I know the clock is going to need a really good cleaning before it runs I simply don't have a inkling how much that would cost me. Any information about this clock would be really welcomed as I'k kinda clueless near this groovy timepiece.
I promise to accept it completely restored some day so I can pass this cute time peace on to my children when I have a family of my own.

My Dear Mother, whom I lost in Oct 2008, used to own a austerity store. 1 of the many treasures that she came across is a Gilbert blue porcelain drapery clock with a floral blueprint, gilt details, which she (we girls ever ended upwardly with Mom's all-time) bestowed upon me several years back.
The clock is in wonderful condition, I had it cleaned and restored to working order past a local expert. It is dated 1904, with the number 244 on the back. I would love to know the history and value of this gift from Mom.

I just bought this Gilbert drape clock which chimes on the half and on the hr. It has an octagon face up, the Gilbert diamond shaped label on the back door, and the number 25 stamped on the works. There is not the name Gilbert on the face.

Automobile Boot Sale Clock

I bought this clock from a auto kicking sale for £45 and know nothing about it other than what it says on the face "Wm L Gilbert Clock Co., Winsted, Conn USA". I then paid a professional clock restorer £45 to have it cleaned inside and to become it working again equally it was full of fluff and old oil and not ticking properly.
It now works beautifully and keeps perfect fourth dimension. Information technology chimes on the half 60 minutes and on the 60 minutes and is surprisingly loud! This is the first fourth dimension I have owned this type of clock and I love it to bits.
Could anyone give me some information most it - approximately how onetime information technology is, how many of them might accept been made, etc?

Oak gingerbread cabinet, bandage pendulum, viii day time/strike shelf clock
Passed down through the family. Endemic by the northern Ireland co-operative of the family, and that is actually all I know.
Good condition, make clean label and dial runs well and chimes one/4s plus hours.
Missing hour hand :(

Former Gilbert Clock
Well ..it has been handed downwardly at least twice that we know of and now we have it ..so I judge it is 3 times.We are wondering when it was made and what the worth of it might be.
We don't want to sell it ..merely wondering ..it is in adept working order and nosotros love the sound of it chiming when the 60 minutes and the one-half hour comes about.
Some of the lettering on the face is very faded just we consider it role of its charm...it says on the back:

What tin can you tell me about this clock?
It has a diamond shape with a G stamped in the centre on the left paw side of the mechanism and 1913 on some other piece in the heart and Wm. Fifty. Gilbert Clock Co. Winsted Conn. USA on another piece on the correct hand side. Likewise on the piece that holds the pendulum in place in that location is a appointment stamped into the piece: April 28, 1896

Grandfather'south mantel clock

I inherited a clock that belonged to my grandfather. It was given to him as a wedding present after his family unit immigrated to the United States from Norway in 1845.
It is a wooden mantel clock that has a pendulum ball and key. The dorsum encompass says Gilbert 1807. Towards the bottom it says William L. Gilbert Clock Company Winsted Conn. U.Southward.A.

Want to know more about this clock. I am thinking on taking up repair as a hobby. Would this be a good "commencement patient" or is information technology horribly complex?
Number on bottom of case is 2806, and I can barely make out the "Normandy Chimes" next to that.
Back of motion has Yard in a diamond and there is likewise a number xxx, is that possibly the year this was made?
Case will need some refinishing and information technology doesn't run.

Before I start I desire to say that I accept ever loved clocks, but I don't know anything about them. And I'thou looking for any information anyone can give me on my clock.
This is a very precious heirloom but I'm wondering how conscientious I should be with it. What I mean is I'm wondering how much it's worth. My clock was recently passed downwardly to me by my mother. The clock has been in our family for some fourth dimension. It originally belonged to my dandy grandfather.
There is a engagement of 12-eleven-31 on the back and the face up says Gilbert on it. The clock is forest and either has a very dark stain on information technology or is painted black. Cheers for your help!!!

Gilbert Kitchen Clock
I practice know that this is a kitchen clock fabricated by the William L. Gilbert Clock Co. in what was formally chosen Winsted Connecticut.
I purchased this clock at an manor auction in Crystal Mn. June 2009 for what I felt was a real bargain at $40.00. I do not know the twelvemonth or what the real value might be, Also I would like to know if this is an viii-24-hour interval clock, or approximate value. Seems to run fine.
Any further information would be truly appreciated.

Bang-up Grandmothers Clock

I wish I knew what kind information technology actually is only, I'll endeavour to describe information technology. It's around 8 inches alpine v inches wide. solid green with some flowers and a woman'southward face(looks almost like a cameo). Information technology has 2 keys and on the face it says Gilbert 1807. On the bottom it has a # 6717B.
I'm sure information technology's the model number or how many were made. I think its a mantel but, could be considered a desk clock. I actually don't know,I'm not very savvy in the clock business.
My grandmother gave it too me several years ago and I'thousand first to get curious about it. It's missing the drinking glass for it's face but, it nonetheless works. I think thats astonishing in itself...they don't make them like that anymore! I don't know how to transfer the flick to the pc but, I will have someone assist me afterwards. I've never seen ane similar this before. I love this old clock but, want to know its history. And then I can pass this down to my girl.
